A roller blind is a single piece of fabric that fits inside or outside of your window recess. It wraps around a casing and slides into the top of your frame. A pull cord on the bottom of the roller blind or a side-winding chain mechanism on the casing of the blind can be used to operate the blind.
Roller Blinds Are Budget Friendly
Covering your windows with roller blinds is one of the least expensive options available. They are often half the price of other shades or curtains, making them an excellent value
- Healthy Options
Greenguard accreditation is now available for many blind fabrics. This indicates that they have complied with stringent standards for low chemical emissions (VOCs). They are safe to use in sensitive locations like hospitals and schools. This is not the case for all blind fabrics, so verify when looking at your samples
- Privacy and Reduced Glare
Sunscreen or a sheer roller blind can provide privacy during the day. Sunscreens can typically reduce glare and UV transmissions by up to 96% while maintaining your view.
- Flexibility with dual rollers
You can use a blackout blind or look into dual roller blinds for privacy at night or to block out light in a bedroom. You can get the best of both worlds by combining a sunscreen roller blind with a block-out blind to control day and night light while still maintaining privacy.
- Ease of control
On a roller blind, the standard chain control is something that most people are very familiar with. Inside the tube, you can use a spring booster to make it easier to operate heavier blinds. Additionally, there are chain-free options for roller blinds that are even more child-friendly. You can manually move the bottom rail to operate the blinds or even motorize the roller blinds. You may be able to use voice control or integrate it with your home automation system, depending on the motor.
- Versatile
One of the most extensive sizes of roller blinds is available. They can be done to significant widths over 3 meters wide with heavy-duty hardware and work equally well for smaller widths. They can be mounted on the wall or ceiling, inside a reveal, or both. They can be rolled back to get closer to the window and block out more light, or they can be rolled forward to clear any hardware from the window and look cleaner.
- Durable and easy to clean
Most of the hardware we use for blinds at Material World is either high-quality Luxaflex, Hunter Douglas, Peter Meyer, or Silent Gliss. Even though there are products on the market that are less expensive, our blinds are priced competitively and are sure to stand the test of time thanks to the higher-quality hardware we use. Because a roller blind only requires a single-gear drive to operate and only two brackets to hold a potentially very heavy blind in place, high-quality hardware is essential.
While you can hire a blind cleaning company to perform an ultrasonic clean on the majority of our blinds, most of the time you won’t need to because, with occasional dusting and a damp cloth for spot cleaning, you should be able to get many years of use out of your blinds.
